Making Calls with RoamTalk
Always dial numbers with the full international dialing code. Once you have finished dialing, press the Send button. RoamTalk uses "call back technology" so you will see the number dialing on the screen, followed by a message thanking you for your request. Within 2-4 seconds your phone will ring you back and you should answer it in the normal way and listen for your call to be connected. If your calling procedure is menu based or if you hear an operator message, please follow the instructions under “Menu-based calling” calling below. After dialing you will be briefly disconnected and then called back. Answer this call and wait for the call to be connected. Some phones might display a message such as “Call barred”. Simply ignore this and wait until you are called back.
Menu-based Calling
Some phones require you to make calls using the phone menu. If this applies to you, please select the menu option “Call” (under the main menu or under “Extras”), then select “Dial” and “Enter number”. Enter the number with the full international dialing code, i.e. “+”, followed by the country code, the regional code, and then the local number and press “OK”. Now proceed as described above.
How to Receive Calls
When you receive a call, your phone will either ring and/or vibrate (depending on the features and settings of your handset). To answer the call, press the usual key.
Text Messaging (SMS)
RoamTalk allows you to send and receive text messages (SMS). Simply type your message using the key pad of your phone, and then send it. For further instructions, please refer to your handset user guide. If your phone displays “Message not sent”, this either means that the destination number cannot be reached (please check our
Country Coverage).
DIVERTING CALLS
This feature allows you to divert incoming calls. Dial ShortCode “066” and follow the prompts.
VOICEMAIL
If you cannot be reached, your handset is busy or you are unable to answer your phone, your calls are automatically diverted to your RoamTalk voicemail. To change the standard settings, dial ShortCode “121” and follow the instructions. ShortCode “121” also allows you to listen to your voicemail messages. If you would like to access your RoamTalk voicemail from another phone, you will need to set up a Pin number for your voicemail. To set the Pin number, dial your RoamTalk phone number, press the number key (#), and follow the prompts.
