Q: Will my GSM cell phone work in other countries?

A: If your GSM (Global System for Mobile communications) cell phone is a tri or quad band phone then it will work in other countries.

GSM 900 / GSM 1800 MHz is used in most parts of the world: Europe, Asia, Australia, Middle East, Africa.

GSM 850 / GSM 1900 MHz is used in the United States, Canada, Mexico and most countries of S. America.

There is no GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz coverage in Japan and South Korea as they use third generation (3G) wireless communication systems which are not compatible with 850/900/1800/1900 MHz cell phones.

If you don’t have a tri or quad band phone you can purchase a cost effective RoamTalk international cell phone by clicking here.
